Electromagnetic holding magnets series GTH of Kendrion
Holding magnets of the Industrial Line from Kendrion include all electromagnetic holding systems in round, flat and rod-shaped designs. The magnets consist of a magnetic housing and a DC-excited coil.
The magnets consist of a magnetic housing and a DC-excited coil. The open magnetic circuit when switched on allows holding of ferromagnetic workpieces. When the power supply is switched off, the workpiece to be held falls off. These holding systems operate with very low operating current and are maintenance-free.
Kendrion is the manufacturer with the largest range of industrial electromagnetic holding magnets. Our products do not only differ between round and rectangular, we also have force-optimized versions that offer a significant holding force advantage at the same size. The following series are offered in our standard program:
Series GTB: Standard electromagnetic holding magnets in round shape from 15-250mm diameter
Series GTH: Force-optimized electromagnetic holding magnets in round shape from 15-100mm diameter
Series 10 331: Electromagnetic holding magnets in round, very flat design in diameters 56, 110 and 170mm
Series 10 310: Electromagnetic holding rods up to a length of 600mm and a width of 60mm
The maximum possible holding forces develop at full and direct contact of the pole plate. The holding forces range from 36 – 30,000 N
All products are manufactured and tested according to DIN VDE 0580.

These magnets offer higher holding force compared to series GTB at similar sizes. This is achieved by a larger dimensioning of the central pole.
The electrical connection of the devices is via free leads. The coil is vacuum cast, the magnet housing is zinc plated and the holding surface is ground. The attachment is done via a central fastening thread on the back of the housing.
Application
These magnetic systems are preferably used in machine and tool making where air gap adjustment is not necessary. The full functionality of the devices is only guaranteed with direct contact with the counter plate of appropriate material thickness.
In case of lateral force, only the sliding force Fv of approx. 1/4 FH can be assumed.
