Locking magnets Locking Line of Kendrion

Push magnets of the Locking Line from Kendrion are locking units specially designed for use in protective devices. Special emphasis was placed on compact design, long service life and high transverse force resistance during development.

Electromagnetic locking units are used in protective devices on machines and automation equipment of all kinds, as well as in direct function in sequence control. In addition, the compact versions are suitable for secure locking of gates, cabinets and drawers.

Push magnets belong to positive locking mechanisms. Two functions are distinguished for push magnets as locking units:

– locked without power (SV): spring force holds bolt in locking position
– unlocked without power (SE): spring force holds bolt open, energized bolt in locking position
– bistable operation (BI): open and locked bolt position without power, power supply for switching operation

Depending on the design, the most diverse requirements can be met, up to special requirements from accident prevention regulations. For function monitoring, microswitches or Hall sensors can be integrated in the device to provide feedback of the bolt position.

To increase the transverse force resistance, magnet armatures and locking bolts are separately guided in maintenance-free, highly wear-resistant bearings in some devices. The locking bolts themselves are mostly made of stainless steel.

Locking magnets type LLV

In electromagnetic locking unit LLV, the stroke movement takes place from the start position to the end position of the stroke (active movement direction), while anchor reset is done by an internal spring force (passive movement direction).

Depending on requirements, two types of magnets are available:
1. Locked without power (SV): spring force holds bolt in locking position
2. Unlocked without power (SE): spring force holds bolt open, energized locked.

Magnet armature and locking bolts are separately guided in maintenance-free bearings. The locking bolt is made of non-rusting and non-magnetic stainless steel. The microswitch, which is directly integrated in the lock housing, signals the position of the locking bolt approx. 0.5 mm to 1 mm after leaving the start position or before reaching the end position.

Mounting is done depending on device type laterally and/or frontally via threaded holes. For the different types of LLV series, there are suitable connection plugs listed on page 13.
