BMS13-60 Specification BMS 13-60 is suitable when high temperatures above 200 °C are required in Boeing commercial aircraft. With a maximum operating potential of 600 VRMs, this specification specifies the design and performance requirements for various types of arc-resistant wires and cables covering four categories: 6 mils, 8 mils, 10 mils, and 19 mils nominal insulation thickness, similar to constructions per MIL-W-22759/80 and SAE-AS22759/80. The temperature rating for the respective versions is determined by conductor or shielding coating: (1) cables with 260°C rating have a nickel-plated copper conductor (2) cables with 260°C rating have nickel-plated copper conductor and nickel-plated shielding (3) cables with 175°C rating have aluminum conductor (4) cables with 150°C rating have tinned copper conductor (5) cables with 150°C rating have tinned shielding. Cable construction is determined by type, class, and dimension. With 56 types and 10 classes, specifications cover sizes 26 AWG to 4/0 AWG. All cable types use white PTFE tape for the jacket unless otherwise specified.
