Shrink split caps

Raychem splice caps are easy-to-install, lightweight insulation for sealing transitions of plastic, paper, and rubber-insulated cables up to 1 kV.

Raychem splice caps offer weight, space and time savings compared to conventional methods and ease overhead mounting as well as cable transport. No special tools or skills are required for installation, which is completed within minutes by simply heating the cable interruption. The diameter shrinks and tightly encases outer jacket and cores. At the same time, the pre-coated sealing compound melts and reliably seals the transition against moisture and environmental influences. Due to the shrink ratio, lower inventory is possible since each size suits multiple cable diameters and types. Made of semi-rigid, radiation-crosslinked and halogen-free polyolefin, these medium-wall cable branches are abrasion-resistant, weatherproof and resistant to air pollution.
